The Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Training is an intensive 80-hour professional development course designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to identify, analyze, address, and prevent the recurrence of nonconformities within an organization’s Quality Management System (QMS).
The course is aligned with the principles and requirements of ISO 9001:2015, particularly those relating to nonconformity and corrective action, risk-based thinking, process improvement, performance evaluation, and continual improvement. Participants will learn how to move beyond identifying the immediate cause of a problem and systematically determine its underlying or systemic root causes.
Through lectures, case studies, practical exercises, workshops, and simulated audit findings, participants will gain hands-on experience using established root cause analysis techniques such as the 5 Whys, Fishbone/Ishikawa Diagram, Pareto Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, Process Mapping, Cause-and-Effect Analysis, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
The course also focuses on developing effective corrective action plans, determining appropriate containment and correction, assigning responsibilities and timelines, establishing objective evidence, and evaluating the effectiveness of corrective actions.
By the end of the program, participants will be able to contribute more effectively to the prevention of recurring problems, improvement of organizational processes, and maintenance of an effective ISO 9001:2015-compliant Quality Management System.
